What if we say that we have brought to you GAEE JMI’s own version of Shark Tank- Piranha Tank as a part of its entrepreneurship incubation fest- Staroom.

If you are
- an aspiring entrepreneur who has a game-changing idea, a strong business model and is looking for seed funding to launch his/her startup
- A new startup founder with a working startup who is looking for initial rounds of funding

GAEE JMI’s Piranha Tank offers all the college-going young entrepreneurs an opportunity to pitch their start-ups in front of investors to raise investment and gain mentorship from the judges.
So what are you waiting for? Be ready with your pitch and be your own business analyst to come up with ideas to be way above others and begin your successful startup story.
Structure of Competition
The event will test the business acumen of startup founders through 2 rounds (including the prelims) that will require them to use the skills of Business Ideation & Projection and Investment Analysis, respectively.
- In this round, participant teams will have to submit their startup pitch summary in the form of the doc given here to give a level ground to all the participants. All the teams are required to carefully read the instructions given in the doc.
- In addition, please sign the non-disclosure agreement given here to ensure the protection of your intellectual property.
- After completing the worksheet doc, submit the doc and the signed non-disclosure agreement in this form.
Deadline- Sep 6, 2022
A total of 5 participant teams from Round 1 will be shortlisted for the second and final round of Piranha Tank. In this round, the finalist teams will pitch their startup to investors/ Mentors in the Presentation Room, Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. During the round, Investors will measure the lucrativeness of the startup and will invest accordingly. In addition, the judges will also act as mentors and will guide the teams in developing and improving their startups. Finally, the top three startups will be ranked who will get an authentic certificate by GAEE JMI and the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Rules and Guidelines:
- The size of the teams must be 2-3 participants. preferably 2 members for non-technical goods (CEO and COO) and 3 members for technical goods (CEO, COO, CTO).
- The event is open to students from all colleges and courses.
- You are allowed to use images of your prototype (if any), the design of your expected product or any other image which allows you to explain your idea better in the worksheet doc.
- You are strictly not allowed to tamper with the worksheet document, even in the form of designing it. If the submission by any team is in the form of a tampered document, it will be subjected to immediate rejection.
- To prevent confusion, please rename all your pdfs in the following format – ‘Team Name_Team Leader’
- If qualified for the second round, the participating teams must come to the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi for the investment pitch presentation on 12th September 2022.

Mr Stephen is the Vice President at Indian Angel Network- India’s first and World’s largest network of angel investors known to be supporting and mentoring new businesses. As an integral part of IAN has successfully sourced many startups including Myspinny, Fareye, Gadgewood, SP Robotics, SmartVizx, DesignBid, Squareplums, Public Vibe, Little Black Book, Wedmegood, Mobycy, Nivesh and many others.
Mr Tarun Kumar
A chartered accountant by profession and graduate from SRCC, Mr Tarun Kumar is living his passion to serve startup ecosystem. He is currently running a CA firm and also is serving as mentor to startups at StartupIndia, Ministry of Commerce and several other startup accelerators. He worked with Ministry of Finance as Consultant. He was special invitee and speaker at UP Investor Summit, 2019 and BRICS 2016. He is member at TEDx. He is also member of Independent Directors Databank, Ministry of Corporate Affairs. He is patron member of MSME Development Forum. He is also member of FICCI, CII and IVCA.
